Karazin popup.description2 The objects of study were hepatocytes, subcellular fractions of liver, homogenates of liver, brain, heart and kidneys, plasma and serum of blood of Wistar rats of different age. The peculiarities of age-dependent reorganization of prooxidant-antioxidant system and functioning of membrane redox chains of organism in conditions of overnutrition, diet unbalanced by the level of animal proteins and vitamins-antioxidants, and calorie restricted diet were investigated. It was established, that under overnutrition rat body mass, thyroxine level, lipid hydroperoxides content and NO-synthase activity were increased, and Se-dependent glutathione peroxidase activity and survival of rats were decreased. Under calorie restricted diet the studied indices were changed in opposite direction. Application of complex "biopolymer from rapana tissues + selenium" was shown to result in increase of Se-dependent glutathione peroxidase activity in tissues of rats kept at unbalanced nutrition and in tissues of very old rats kept at calorie restricted diet.
