It is developed finite-element model of the lumbar spine and performed the study of the stress-strain distribution in the system "implant-lumbar spine-pelvic bone". Ultimate stresses in the vertebras and pelvis in the point of the screw insertion are presented with the different spine fixation patterns. New experimental model of ventral spinal fusion has been developed. Results of the treatment of adult scoliosis treatment in 110 patients are presented. Clinical appearance and natural history, main complication and causes of unsatisfactory outcomes were studied. It is developed criteria of the differential diagnosis and prediction of the natural history in different adult scoliosis types using linear discriminated analyses.
