Aim - to study incidence rate and trends of breast cancer among evacuees as indicator of women's health damage associated with radiation. Methods - program-aim planning, systemic analysis, statistical, program-mathematical. For realization of the study the cohort of evacuated women was formed from DB of SRU (44 887 persons). On the basis of this cohort a sub-cohort of Kyiv city and Kyiv region female residents was created (27 954 persons). Structural characteristic of the sub-cohort is presented. The automated linkage of SRU and NCRU informative arrays is conducted. 148 cases of breast cancer are identified - 37 cases from Kyiv city and 111 cases from Kyiv oblast. The created DB containins information on identified breast cancer cases and includs elements necessary for their identification and tracing was created. Age Standardized incidence rate was 37,2 per 100 000 population, 95% CI: 30,96 - 43,44 (world standard, the age category 10 - 75 +). At the same time this rate was 48,8 (95% CI: 47,9 - 49,2) for the whole Ukraine. Defined incidence levels in the study sub-cohort are below the average Ukrainian and were from 70% to 80% during the studied period. These values are due to the fact that the territory from which women were resettled belonged to the regions with the lowest incidence of breast cancer in pre-accident period (1980 - 1986 years). Defined character of aged specific incidence rate is responsible to Ukrainian. The expected radiation incidence excess of breast cancer not yet reported in the study sub-cohort. An information letter about the nature and characteristics of the formation of breast cancer incidence in women who were evacuated from the exclusion zone was developed. The methodical recommendations for the algorithm of the alternative computation of the study cohort size in dynamics of observation by giving an example of the SRU data is worked out and published.
