Purpose of work - To investigate and calculate electromagnetic fields of the high voltage equipment of electrical grids. Methods of research - Numerical methods of finite element and finite integration were used for calculation of electric field distribution. Results of work - the carried out calculations have shown that electric field intensity outside urban substations 110 kV of all types does not reach the exposure limit defined by normative documents. Inside territory of the substation excess of 5 kV/m values is observed in 110 kV outdoor switchgear under busbar wires in places with the least height of suspension (3,6 m). In these zones stay time of maintenance personals is limited, therefore it is not required additional actions for electric field restriction. Field of application - Results of research work can be useful to designers of electric power objects and for specialist in the field of electromagnetic ecology problems. Scientific novelty - Finite element method for calculations of three-dimensional electric field of large-scale power objects was used, by means of which the electric field levels outside high voltage substations were investigated that has allowed to estimate exposure on human and environment.
