Aim of study is to develop a scientific and methodical support of content, learning technologies and psychological support for children with visual impairments at different stages of correction education (preschool, primary and secondary) on basis of the usage of their potential of compensatory and cognitive and visual abilities. Methods of work are theoretical (analysis of foreign and domestic pedagogical and psychological and ophthalmological literature), empirical (pedagogical observation, study and analysis of pedagogical experience, interviewing teachers, psychological training, pedagogical experiment), the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the results. Results are theoretically defined of support of scientific and didactical and methodological realization of the content at various stages of special education. The concept of content, scientific and methodological support of education of children with visual impairments in different age groups is discovered; the monograph "The content of education for children with visual impairments: general and specific components", the books "The World Around You" for visually impaired children of Grade 2 (Part I and II), scientific manuals "Peculiarities of the development of preschool children with visual impairments" (Part I and II), "Organization of the labor studies at the basic level of a special school for children with visual impairments," "The World Around You", part of the manual "Psychological support of preschool children with visual impairments" are prepared to type; educational programs for primary schools for children with visual impairments in fine arts, labor training and service labor, methodological manuals for the usage of secondary school programs in special schools for children of second degree of blind and with low vision; science textbook "Children with visual impairments" // "Guide for parents of children with special educational needs".
