The detected abzymes can detach moieties of sialic acids from the carbohydrate chains of glycoproteins, as well as from the gangliosides. These data suggest participation of sialil-hydrolyzing abzymes in the processes of clearance of apoptotic and necrotic cells at some oncohematological and autoimmune diseases.
