Research subject - diachronic and synchronic aspects of national press, especially the structural, semantic and pragmalingual features of the BAP political debate discource, the functioning of copyright and related rights in the domestic and foreign media, the problems of journalism education development in Ukraine. The purpose of the study - to make a review on the current problems of mass communication theory and history of Ukrainian mass media, to analyze the discource of the foreign press and to establish standarts of modern journalism education in Ukraine. Methods: historical, comparative, systematic and structural, theoretically-deductive, inductive, structural and semantic analysis, extended pragmalingual analysis, argumentation method of analysing units of speech, the causal-genetic method of analysing the discource. Theoretical and practical results, scientific novelty: 1) the complete picture of the half of the twentieth century domestic press development is scientifically reconstructed for the first time - the press that was aimed at an independent Ukrainian state adoption and played its role in organization the interned UGA soilders in exile for the sake of preserving the whole nation; 2) a comprehensive analysis of language in terms of its use for integrated speech units in a real media communicative environment semantic construction of real communication environment of mass media, in particular parliamentary debats in the UK Internet publications; 3) the proposals concerning the copyright and related rights regulation in the legal acts of Ukraine are deveplopment according to the global information environment requirements; and an attempt to create standarts of modern journalism education in Ukraine is made; 4) the practical results of the research are published in 98 articles. Effeciency of use: results of the research are used in practice as teaching following subjects: "The Media and the Law", "The History of Journalism", "The modern theory and practice of the Peoridical Press", "Theory of Mass Communication", "Genres of media", "Recent tendencies in the media development" "Media research methods".
