Theoretical investigation and numerical simulation of the redistribution of fast ions during sawtooth oscillations in the tokamak DIII-D (USA) were performed. An expression was derived for the growth rate of nonlinear excitation of an Alfven mode pair in a tokamak, which arises due to their Compton scattering on superthermal ions.
