The work is based on scientific concepts of metal solidification in unsteady-state conditions under the influence of dynamic effects of mould oscillation, heat removal from liquid steel, liquid slag pouring in the gap between the inner surface of the mold and the shell surface, solid shell deformation at the meniscus optimization of the mold oscillation parameters as well as features of liquid steel staying in the mould. The original physical and mathematical models, laboratory units and research methods that allows to design the optimal configuration of the internal mould shape, to identify the mechanism of pulling the slag into the gap between the inner wall of the mold and the surface of the billet during the casting process, to recommend the optimal system of mould oscillation parameters for the existing casters and to propose innovative solutions for new casters that are created in the domestic machine-building enterprises are designed and created.
