The methods of early diagnosis and prognostication of changes in the oral cavity (in particular, inflammatory and inflammatory-dystrophic diseases of periodontal tissues) have been developed. The correlations of periodontal tissues in HIV-infected individuals with the type of nervous system and the level of personal and reactive anxiety have been identified which is important in terms of predicting further changes in periodontal tissues and development of preventive measures. The new methods of complex pathogenetic therapy of patients with generalized periodontitis using the biologically active medications (reabsorbing membranes, osteoplastic material) have been elaborated, as well as the methods of improving the surgical and orthopedic measures in order to promote the periodontal tissues regeneration and increase the effectiveness of treatment. The method reducing the treatment time and leading to the long-term disease stabilization has been developed. In HIV-infected persons the prevalence and clinical picture peculiarities of periodontal tissue lesions depending on the individual characteristics of nervous system have been identified. The diagnostic microbiological and biochemical tests for detection of the early changes manifestations in periodontal tissues and prognostication of their dynamics have been developed which allows to substantiate the primary prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with manifestations of periodontal tissues lesions. The obtained results demonstrate the close relationship between the processes of lipid peroxidation, activity of antioxidant defense enzymes, microcirculatory, coagulative homeostasis and fibrinolysis, immunity and nonspecific resistance. The increase of periodontitis severity is accompanied by significant disconnections between the systems under study. This fact promotes the destruction enhancement of periodontal tissues. In the context of the obtained data it is important during the treatment of generalized periodontitis to take into account the conditions of all pathogenesis links and use medications that will normalize homeostasis in the periodontal tissues, as well as in bodies of patients with periodontitis, especially by acute condition development and clinically apparent advance of periodontal tissues atrophy.
