On the basis of self-consistent spin-polarized relativistic linear muffn-tin orbital (LMTO) band-structure calculations within the local spin-density approximation (LSDA) and LSDA+U method the x-ray nagnetic circular as well as linear dichroism has been evaluated. The role of the spin polarization and the spin-orbit interaction in the formation of the spectra as inferred from first-principles calculations has been examined and discussed.
