Karazin popup.description2 Object of investigation: electrodynamics characteristics of a set of waveguide-slot discontinui-ties such as longitudinal and transversal slots in a rectangular waveguide with a dielectric layer parallel to its narrow or broad walls, slots over a dielectric slab of finite length and next to it, slots partially filled with dielectric, slot-wire radiators and multi-element slot systems as well. The aim of the work: elaboration of methods of solving the problems of field scattering and ra-diation by complicated inhomogeneities in the waveguide such as dielectric-slot, wire-slot ones, multi-slot systems on the base of the waveguide with slow-down system, computational and experimental investigation of some of these systems electrodynamics characteristics. The method of investigations: modified eigen-waves method, Green functions method, modi-fied successive approximations method, combined induced electro-magneto-motive one. On the base of solution of excitation and scattering problems the algorithms and effective computer programs for calculation scattering matrix elements and directional characteristics of systems mentioned above were created. The detailed numerical investigation of scanning multi-slot systems excited with the down slowing wave was carried out. It was established for the first time that during the frequency scanning in the range of angles from 2 to -45 degrees the gain of the longitudinal slots system varies nothing more than 1 dB. For the system of transversal slots the condition was found by which the only one maxima exists in the range of scanning range . The possibility of matching the resonance X-slots, radiating the circularly polarized field, with the help of dielectric slabs in the waveguide was shown. Some numerical results obtained were confirmed experimentally. The results of investigations can be used in the process of radiation systems and feeding device units construction.
