The object of the studying is the natural complexes of the Danube Biosphere Reserve. The aim of the scientific work was the revealing of the etalon sites of the natural complexes of the Danube Delta, which could be considered as the biomarkers during the elaboration of the recommendations and improving of the measurements on the reproduction of the natural state of the regional territories, changed in the result of the anthropogenic activities, organization of the rational use of the natural resources, increasing of their biodiversity, minimization of the negative impact of the economical activity on the natural complexes and its optimization. The main objectives consist in the revealing of the etalon sites of the various natural complexes, estimation of the natural state of the whole territory of the DBR, influence of the anthropogenic factors on it, and also the revealing of the territories, which need the ecological restoration. The methods of researches were the standard techniques of botanical, hydrobiological, ichthyological, herpetological and ornithological researches. As the result of the work implementation for the first time for the territory of the reserve there were discovered the etalon sites for the different components of the biodiversity and were elaborated the recommendations on the reconstruction of the changed ecosystems. In general, on the whole territory of the DBR, the total area of which amount to 50252.9 hectares, their were discovered the 57 etalon sites of total area 11260 hectares, that amount to 22.4% from the territory of the reserve. The subsequent use of the results of the researches could be the securing of the implementation of the elaborated recommendations.
