Aim: to develop technology and compounding of the catalyst for low-temperature conversion of carbon monoxide, which provides a low concentration of by-product - methanol. Methods: X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetry, determination of specific surface by low-temperature adsorption of nitrogen, determination of specific surface copper by low-temperature chemisorption of oxygen, activity tests in laboratory flow-type reactor at atmospheric pressure. The influence of alkali promoter of cesium on physico-chemical and catalytic properties of copper-zinc-aluminum catalyst conversion of carbon monoxide with water vapor was determined. Found that addition of Cs in the amount of 1%, in the form of CsNO3, and as CsCOOH, reduces the formation of methanol in 2.5-3 times. Introduction Cs in intermediate production of the catalyst - carbonate mass is predominant in comparison with its introduction in oxide mass, as leading to greater reduction of output by-methanol with less negative impact on crystalitics, thermal stability, phase composition, surface active Cu-component catalyst.
