Aim of the project was in revealing of biological basic of: metabolic processes in root tissues, photosynthetic leaf parenchyma and depository plant tissue of different plant species under the combined action of abiotic environmental factors in model and field experiments; role of metal-binding proteins in formation of plant resistance to stress; relations between oxidative metabolism and plant test functions in conditions of stress influence. During scientific research work modern physiological, biochemical, physical, chemical and statistical methods of investigation were used. Specialties in isozymes formation and activity changes in the enzymes of glutathione cycle in condition of oxidative stress were discovered for the first time and their species- and tissue-specific nature was established. New data on the distribution of polypeptides and enzymes of antioxidant defense in root meristem of Zea mays L. were obtained. For the first time physical and chemical parameters of Cd-bindind proteins in different maize tissues were determined. New results on qualitative and quantitative variability of lipids and proteins of mitochondrial fraction of biological membranes were obtained along with intensity of lipid and protein metabolism under combined action of different xenobiotics and hyperthermia. New role of plant phenolics in nonspecific reaction of stress-induced pigmentation of roots was discovered. New algorithm for differential diagnostics of toxic action of xenobiotics on plants was introduced. For the first time integral criteria for oxidative stress identification were developed. New biologically active substance on the basis of polyhexametilenguanidinhydroxychloride for pre-sowing treatment of seeds as growth and development stimulator and for neutralizing of toxic herbicide influence and increase in biological resistance and harvest of crops was recommended and implemented. Results of SRW are implemented in agrarian scientific research institutes and in crop breeding as reflected in Acts of Implementation.
