The crystal structures of 169 ternary and quaternary compounds synthesized at the department, 15 of which are representatives of new structure types, were determined by X-ray single-crystal and powder diffraction. The structure of the compound Gd3Ni7Al14 belongs to a family of two-layer structures, the structure type Yb0.67Ni2Al6 can be decomposed into three kinds of layer and is characterised by complete disorder of Al3 triangles and Yb atoms, and 9-atom rings Se9 were found for the first time in the structure of the compound Rh2Se9Cl6. Transport and magnetic properties were measured for 60 compounds and solid solutions. A relationship between the oxidation state of Eu and physical properties of EuPd2 xSix alloys was established. The most common structure types of intermetallic compounds with trigonal and tetragonal symmetry were systematised.
