The new results on luminescent properties of complex oxides of different structural types, as nominally pure and doped with ions of transition metals and rare earth elements have been received during the scientific research work realization. The series of nominally pure and doped with different ions (Cr3+, Eu3+, Pr3+) ceramic samples of Ga-containing oxides (Ca3-xCdxGa2Ge3O12, Gd3Ga5O12, -Ga2O3-In2O3-SnO2) and nanopowders and nanoceramics (Gd3Ga5O12, Gd3Ga5O12: Tb3+) have been synthesized. The application of X-ray, thermal and photostimulated luminescence methods allowed to define the parameters of shallow and deep traps, the spectral composition of the thermoluminescence glow peaks, peculiarities of lightsum storing, the recombination mechanisms of intrinsic and impurity luminescence excitation in PbWO4, PbWO4:Tb3+, CaMoO4, CaWO4 single crystals and Gd3Ga5O12: Pr3+ polycrystals, as well as to propose the models of luminescence centers. On the base of these results we suggested the ways to improve the parameters of materials used in quantum electronics (Gd3Ga5O12: Pr3+, Eu3+) and high energy physics (PbWO4, PbWO4: Tb3+, CaWO4, CaMoO4).
