The purpose - to determine the order of work with electronic documents in the record keeping and preparation for the transfer of archives. Methods of research: general scientific (heuristic method of system analysis and synthesis of scientific research) and special (arhival, method of modeling information process). Theoretical and practical results: specifically mentioned the different states of electronic documents in the record keeping, studied the peculiarities of functioning of electronic documents in each of these states, taking into account these features it was suggested the procedure for working with electronic documents in record keeping. On the basis of procedure it is planning the development of a legal act in the framework of the concept of the development of electronic government in Ukraine, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated September 26, 2011 № 1014-p. The novelty of the research: the research on this topic had not been performed. Scope of the application: the procedure provided implement in record keeping of public authorities, institutions, business organizations of Ukraine. Effectiveness of implementation: the procedure will help officials responsible for organizing management in institutions to do the further normalization control by their documentation processes, including work with the electronic documents.
