The processes of regional integration significantly modify the structure and contours of the modern system of international relations, denies (with globalization, social transformations in the Second and Third worlds, i.e. in the periphery and semi-periphery, and shifts the paradigm of security), one of the defining characteristics of this system. In the cours of the research project indicated the theoretical and methodological assumptions and approaches to the study of global and regional integration. Conceptualized the nature of the relation of globalization and regionalization, the role of the latter interpreted as a leading restructuring forces of modernity. Investigated the specificity of regional integration in the European geopolitical range, the post-Soviet geopolitical space, as well as in sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean. Obtained values and civilization, and conceptual-strategic aspects of foreign trade and foreign policy of the Ukrainian state, generated by the process of regionalization. Defined and justified the basic directions of the integration strategy of Ukraine.
