Research objective: Complex study of the influence of landscapes and their related hydrogeological, geophysical and hydrochemical characteristics and processes on the formation of groundwater resources, protectability and vulnerability, chemical composition, etc. Research methods: hydrogeological, geophysical, geochemical, mathematical modeling. Wide complex of field research, experimental studies, and mathematical modeling have been performed for the assessment of groundwater natural resources of main aquifers. The influence of electromagnetic fields at the "atmosphere-geological medium" boundary on the groundwater recharge formation has been studied. A methodology has been designed for groundwater vulnerability and protectability assessment, and the mathematical models developed for groundwater resources assessment in cases of Kyiv, Volyn, and Crimea pilot study areas. The obtained research results can be used by State Geological Survey, Ministry of water industry, Ministry of Emergency situations, Ministry of Ecological Safety of Ukraine.
