On the base of analysis of X-ray optic technological requirements polycapillar optic was chosen for quasi monochromatic X-ray source. The simulation of ion beam sizes on a converter was carried out. Electrostatic quadrupole lenses doublet was chosen as ion optic system. Peculiarities of construction and operation of prototype and final version of quasi monochromatic X-ray source which is successfully installed in analytical accelerator-based complex of IAP of NAS of Ukraine were described. X-ray spectra were obtained with final version of quasi monochromatic X-ray source.
