Technology of melting titanium aluminide with alloying additives of niobium, chromium and boron was developed. Equipment for induction zone melting (IZM) of titanium aluminide was designed and cyclograms of the melting process were developed. Composition and structure of titanium aluminide after IZM were studied. Investigation of the composition, structure phase compounds and mechanical properties of titanium aluminide was conducted. Process of plastic deformation of titanium aluminide in a low-carbon steel shell of samples after EBCHM, as well as with subsequent zone recrystallization was developed. Structure, phase composition and mechanical characteristics of the rolled stock were studied. Process equipment and fixtures for electron beam welding of TiAL intermetallic were developed. EBW of titanium aluminide was performed. Structure and mechanical characteristics of welded joints were studied.
