Subject - peculiarities of Ukrainian ethnos evolution and its contribution into the process of general-human civilization and culture development. Aim of the research work - to reveal the phenomenon of Ukrainians and renew mutual understanding and unity of Ukraine and world Ukrainians through organic process of perception and self-knowledge, self-creation, self-identification. Tasks of the research work: a) creation of source research base; b) research and explanation of stages and peculiarities of evolution development of Ukrainian ethnos; c) creation of the conception, plan and form author group and prepare texts of 2 volumes "Ukrainian land and people. Ukrainian ethnos in the world time and space (from ancient times to XVII century)"; d) realization social, philosophical and Ukrainian studies researches of ancient territories of Ukrainian ethnos; f) elaboration of suggestions of practical ethno-, nation-, state-building. In the process research principles of: system, history, objectivity, succession, universality and world-view: union of perception and self-knowledge, creation and self-creation; union of development of spiritual backgrounds of Ukrainians in Ukraine and outside, union of territory and practice, differentiation and integration of knowledge, ethno-psychological, language-cultural and evolution-prediction. Application of analysis methods, synthesis, system and structural, logic, problem-chronological, comparative, retrospective, qualification and periodization gave the opportunity to research and explain consenters Ukraine - ethnos; - nature; - language; - culture; ethnos, nation, state; Ukrainians in international relationships; its mentality, destiny, historical mission in their organic union and interdependence. Theoretical and practical results : conception of scientific Ukrainian studies research is developed; selection of author group and elaboration of source base of research; 18 monographs and books, including 1-st volume of collective monograph "Ukrainian land and people. Ukrainian ethnos in the world time and space (from ancient times to XIV century)"; and first version of the 2-nd volume of this edition is prepared (XV-XVII cent.) werepublished; 2 educational-methodological manual, 300 scientific articles are published; 3 candidate and 1 doctor degree dissertation were defended. The results were enounced and discussed during lots of international, all-Ukrainian and scientific conferences and round tables.
