Subject of the research - role and place of national culture in the system of Ukrainian studies research which ensure perception, self-perception and self-creation of Ukrainian people with the aim of its national and cultural identity preservation. Aim of the research work - to identify and scientifically prove natural character and historical inevitability of national culture formation in the system of Ukrainian studies. The research reflects real state and existing problems in the field of nation culture which has arisen in building up highly humanitarian Ukrainian society. The stress is made on inter-conditionality of self-perception and self-building of culture by specific subject of history - human, which takes immediate part in creation of Ukrainian state and recreation of its national specific. Main tasks of research work: a) creation of scientific, informational and source base about the phenomenon of national culture in the system of Ukrainian studies elaborations, researches and searches; b) based on modern principles of scientific methodology and culturological researches to investigate and explain: historical stages and development peculiarities of Ukrainian national culture in the system of Ukrainoznavstvo; c) interdependence of creation and self-creation of national culture on the basis of Ukrainoznavstvo, its structures and condition of social and economic development of the country, formation of high culture of social consciousness of its citizens is identified and proved; d) projection peculiarities of unique parts of Ukrainian cultural identity and ethno-national subsoil is researched. During the process of the research general scientific principles of Ukrainian studies cultural problems view were used, such as: historical method, systematic, comparative analysis, source motivation, objectiveness, detailed investigation, succession, research fullness and typological confrontation. In the number of specific methods such can be called: unity of perception and self-perception, creation and self-creation of Ukrainian culture; unity of Ukrainian spiritual culture development; differentiation and integration of knowledge; ethno-cultural, evolution-prognostic, structural and functional, biographical and culturological. All these methods and principles secured scientism and fullness of the research and highlighting all consenters of Ukrainian studies, especially consenter "Ukraine - culture". Theoretical and practical results are: conception of scientific Ukrainian studies "National culture in the system of Ukrainoznavstvo" is developed; author group is created and historical-source base of the research is worked up. Also newest Ukrainian studies and culturological works of Ukrainian and foreign scientists of the beginning of XXI century. On the topic of the research work such works are published: 5 monographs (personal); chapters in collective work "Ukrainian women in history: new pages"; 81 scientific works. Scientific results of the research work were discussed and proclaimed during international conferences, all-Ukrainian scientific and practical conferences, methodological seminars, symposiums and also during lectures for postgraduate students and listeners of qualification trainings about culturology and Ukrainian studies.
