Paton Electric Welding Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2 Systematic investigations were carried out on alloys of the Ti-Zr-Fe(Mn) system over a wide concentration range, their structure and melting ranges. Volumetric liquidus surfaces and meta-stable polythermal section 60Ti40Mn-67.5Zr32.5Mn Formed at a cooling rate of more than0.1 K/c were plotted. The ranges of existence of eutectic alloys with low solidus and liquidus temperatures were indentified on the basis of the investigations conducted. Optimal compositions of eutectic filler metals with acceptable melting temperatures where chosen for their use as brazing filler metals for joining of titanium aluminides. It was shown that application of the adhesion-active filler metals based on the Ti-Zr-Fe and Ti-Zr-Mn systems for brazing of titanium aluminides provides formation of the two-phase structure of the brazed seams (tiAl and Ti3Al) close to that of the base material. The main indicator of heart resistance is a long-term strength value, which at a temperature of 700 C and stress of 200 MPa amount to 483 and 500 h, respectively, with no violation of structural integrity of the specimens. Based on the investigation results on spreading of filler metals of different systems over nickel aluminide (Ni3Al), studies of formation of structure of the brazed joints when using filler metals in the form of cast alloys, as well as in the form of multilayer microcristalline foils Ni/Al made by the electron beam evaporation method showed a high potential of the research area and possibility of providing the dense homogeneous brazed seams without subjecting of the brazed joints to spacial heat treatment. The integrated investigations of the brazed joints on advancedtitanium and nickel aluminide based materials allow widening of their application fields in many industries to manufacture a number of parts of hot sections of different-purpose gas turbine engines (aviation, power generation, ship building, etc.), where it is necessary to ensure high heat resistance of the resulting structures and assemblies.
