The goal of the work is to develop methodological approaches to the implementation of radiation protection optimization at the decommissioning stage based on an analysis of international practices and national experience and to formulate recommendations for and methodological approaches to improving radiation safety at the decommissioning stage. This work involves the following activities: implementation of radiation protection optimization at the decommissioning stage of NPPs; cost-benefit analysis as part of the approach to the implementation of radiation protection optimization at the decommissioning stage; assessment of the radiation situation at NPP units at the decommissioning stage; assessment of the environmental impact of NPPs at the decommissioning stage; analysis of the international practices of using and testing high-efficiency filters at NPPs; formulation of recommendations on finding the optimal decontamination factor for coolant and air at different stages of operation of NPPs; development of an integrated program of providing an infrastructure for scientific and methodological support of the industry in the development, qualification, and certification of new filters and filter materials.
