Purpose of the work - modification of the production technology of the corundum-spinel plugs and the mastering of the improved production technology of the corundum-spinel plugs for the ground purging of metal in the steel-melting ladles.Methods of studies - chemical, physicomechanical, petrographical analyses.Are executed studies of the quantity influence (2,5; 5; 7,5; 10%) of dispersed alumina of brands CTC 40 and CT 3000 SG additives on the basic indices of the properties (Porosity, Density, Strength) of the vibrocast samples of corundum-spinel composition after the firing at temperatures of 1400 °C, 1500 °C, 1580 °C. It is established that using of that alumina had not influence too much on improving of general properties (Porosity, Density, Strength) of samples after firing at 1400 °C, 1500 °C, 1580 °C. But introduction of 10 % CTC 40 alumina provides some increasing of samples properties and obtaining properties indices which satisfy to requirements of TУ У 26.2-00190503-290: 2006 (open porosity 17,0 %, apparent density 3,18 g/cm3, compression strength 133 N/mm2) after firing at some lower temperature 1500 °C instead of 1580 °C.Is studied the influence of the form of alumina-magnesia spinel which content 75 or 85 % of Al2O3 and the grain size (2-0,5 mm, less than 0,5 mm and less than 0,063 mm) on general indices of the properties of corundum-spinel plugs after firing at a temperature 1580 °C. It is established that the higher properties indices and the higher slag resistance had samples made with spinel which contains 85 % of Al2O3 and introduced into coarse grained fraction and into fine-grained fraction of samples both. Obtained results are corresponds to the obtained in institute earlier researching results. Carried out researches confirmed that during corundum-spinel plugs production only spinel which content 85 % of Al2O3 should be used. Taking into account the results of the executed studies on the modification of the technology of the production of corundum-spinel plugs is developed the project of a change in № 3 to the technological instruction TИ 24-ИO-141-2006 "The production of the central refractory insert of purging plugs by the vibrocast method. Trial lot".According to the results of the studies, executed in the operation 2.10-4- K -1.4-2010-ВН and directed toward the modification of the technology of production purging plugs with respect to the developed change in № 2 to TИ 24-ИO-141-2006 is mastered the improved production technology of the purging plugs of brand ПКШ.In the experimental production of institute for agreements for the metallurgical enterprises of the Ukraine the trial lots of ground purging plugs, which correspond to requirements TУ У 26.2-00190503-290 for brand ПКШ and adjusting blocks were made.Work should be continued in the direction of the perfection of the production technology of purging plugs, mastering of the improved technology and expansion of the volumes of their production and application.
