Aim of the investigations: to study the gene expression of nuclear steroid receptors in meningiomas and breast cancer cells and their response to the ligands. Methods: cell culture methods, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), Western blotting, light, fluorescence and transmission electron microscopy, biochemical methods of analysis. Theoretical and practical results: analysis of gene expression of the superfamily of nuclear receptors and Toll-like receptors in tumor cells of different origins to determine the characteristics of their phenotypic characteristics and role of these receptors in the induction of cell death was investigated. In was determined that the most common phenotypic feature of cancer cells of various origins was overexpression of nuclear receptors: glucocorticoid receptor alpha and peroxisome proliferator activated receptor beta. The expression features of the nuclear receptors superfamily and of Toll-like receptors in meningioma cells were determined. Novelty: it was determined for the first time that the most typical expression patters in cancer cells of different origin and histogenesis is the expression of nuclear receptors - glucocorticoid receptor alpha and peroxisome proliferator activated receptor beta, and Toll-like receptors 1-6. Priority data was obtained concerning the expression patterns and characteristics of NRS and TLR expression in meningioma cells. Efficacy of implementation: received data can be used for the development of the optimized treatment strategies for the cancer and for treatment of breast cancer and meningioma tumors in particular, where the expression patters of the receptors can be considered.
