We showed the elevation of iron amount after incubation of cells with FM in all cellular fractions. The highest level of iron was noticed in mitochondrial and cytosolic fractions. The described correlation between FM cytotoxic activity and their physico-chemical properties would allow us to perform selection of FM with needed size to study their interactions with cell membrane structures.
