Novikov, Registration Date 01-10-2012 Organization Lviv Polytechnic National University popup.description2 A biosynthesis of microbial surfactants by the bacteria of genera Rhodococcus, Pseudomonas, and yeast of genus Phaffia, as well as the selection of cost-effective carbon and nitrogen sources were conducted. The properties of surfactants were studied. Based on the obtained results efficient and economically sound carbon sources, particularly oil, glycerol, hydrocarbons and industrial waste for production of effective biosurfactants, were identified. The physico-chemical and biological properties of the biosurfactants were determined. It was established that these compounds can be characterized as active surfactants by the parameters of surface, emulsifying activity and promising substances for the development of complex antimicrobial preparations based thiosulfoacids esters and naphthoquinone derivatives. The obtained biosurfactants will be used for the formation of complexes with naphthoquinone and thiosulfanilates, and the investigations in the following research areas will be conducted: 1) impact on growth, membrane permeability and hydrophobicity of a number of bacteria and fungi, 2) antiviral and virucide activity 3) impact on the speed and depth of anaerobic waste utilization.
