The object of the research - non-ritual traditional folk music of Kyiv Polissya. The purpose - to decipher, to put into scientific turnover, to explore and to organize music materials, which were obtained in this region from 1978 to 2006 by the author of this research, expeditions of MNS (MoE of Ukraine) and DNCZKSTK (State Scientific Centre for Cultural Heritage Protection from Technogenic Catastrophes). Methods - text and music transcription, music analysis and musical form modelling, organization and selection of materials for the collection. The collection "Folk Music of Kyiv Polissya. Part 2" contains completely new text and music materials from Kyiv Polissya, never published previously - that is the scientific novelty of the collection. In the course of research 229 pieces of non-ritual folk music were selected, processed and prepared for publication, including "zvychayni pisni" (customary songs) - 211 pieces, "narodni psal'my" (folk psalms) - 10, instrumental music pieces - 8. Each chapter contains an analytical study. The reference matter was carried out. Publication of the collection should become a significant contribution into the Ukrainian ethnomusicology and ethnology. It will facilitate a revival of folk traditions among injured polissian residents as well as among the wider population of Ukraine.
