The object of the research - Velykyi Dyvlyn - the complex of significant sites. The aim of the research - fixation and preservation of the archaeological heritage inside the territory of the Velykodyvlynska rural council (Lugynskyi district, Zhytomyrska region); scientific study and inventory of movable archaeological significant sites, formation of the museum fund with objects of archaeological significance. Methods - collecting of lifting material, archaeological excavations, graphical and photo fixation, special methods of archaeological fixational and age dating of artefacts (stratigraphic, typologically-comparative, technological), analytical description, scientific study of revealed movable archaeological monuments, and inventory card drafting. In the field seasons of 2008-2011, the archaeological researches took place inside the territory of Velykodyvlynska rural council (Luhynsky district, Zhytomyrska region). During these researches, the archaeological complex Velykyi Dyvlyn was discovered and examined; prospecting in the vicinity of villages Buchmany and Velykyi Dyvlyn was realized. The complex consists of six Late Paleolithic clusters (A, B, C, D, E, F), Kievan Rus hillfort - "Hora Sultanka" with its faubourg and ancient settlement - "Hora Dyvlynska". During this period, stationary excavations at the man site Velykyi Dyvlyn-I, clusters A and E were held; pit sampling was executed at the clusters A, D, E within the territory of "Hora Dyvlynska" and "Hora Sultanka" settlements; the topographical area plan has been executed; lifting material was collected (clusters A-E). During this period, 3002 artefacts were collected. After the expeditions were held, a scientific inventory and graphical renderings of artefacts were realized, statistical tables were compiled, cultural and chronological affiliation of monuments was established. Results of the research will be used in the process of formation of the Museum-Archive of the Ukrainian Polissya Folk Culture. Because of the growing process of destruction of archaeological monuments, as well as the new data has been obtained during the excavations - the scientific research of archaeological complex Velykyi Dyvlyn should be continued.
