Integrated CAD / CAM system for computer-aided design of control programs for the milling and grinding CNC machines is created. The system has been tested by manufacturing experimental samples of implants with the use of automatically developed programs. The characteristics, wich are obtained in the course of experiments, fully confirm the planned indicators: surface roughness and the accuracy of 3D surfaces complies with the requirements, and the performance has been increased in 2 times in comparison with the control programs, generated by well-known CAM systems. In theoretical terms of the development of the production engineering science it is determined that it is advisable to control the processing of an artificial knee joint on CNC machines basing on an a priori information, which is contained in the mathematical model of the process. The control must be made through CAM-system of technological preparation of the operation, which automatically creates a control file by solving optimization problems on each step of the simulation.
