The purpose of the research work is the revision of the Departmental Building Norms 'ВБН В 2.3-218-538:2007' "Fuels and lubricants consumption rates for the work of road building and special machines", definition the consistency of the norms stated in this document with the up-to-date level of technique and technological processes development and scientifically supported definition of fuels and lubricants consumption rates for the machines and mechanisms which are not mentioned in the basic collections, and bringing their status in consistency with the current legislation. The research method is the analysis of road building machinery availability at the subsidiaries of Private Joint Stock Company "State Road Company "Highways of Ukraine", acquisition of numerous requests and proposals from road organizations, revision of technical information from domestic and foreign enterprises and manufacturers, carrying out time-checking observations.
