The aim of the project is to build the algorithm to calculate the antenna with chokes over the flange, to optimize the positions and depths of the chokes to provide uniform exposure of biological samples placed near the antenna aperture. The importance and urgency of this investigation are determined by the necessity to study the influence of the radiation on living organisms. In particular the 60 GHz radiation is of special interest as it is absent in the ambient and it is a new promising Wi-Fi standard. For the experimental study of the radiation influence on humans and other living organisms it is necessary to develop an antenna that provides the uniform exposure of biological samples, which simulate the living tissue and placed at some distance above the antenna. For this purpose the rectangular waveguide aperture with chokes over the flange can be a good candidate, as it is easy for fabrication, has low profile, characterized by little loss and has wide opportunities to form shaped radiation patterns. It has been shown that 2D model describes the real 3D antenna very well. The efficient models for the solution of the scattering problems of E-and H-polarized waves radiated from the rectangular waveguide with a corrugated flange have been built. The possible regimes of the antenna operation are found and described basing on the dispersion analysis of the infinite arrays. The flange profile has been optimized to form the sector radiation pattern. A comparison of the results obtained for 2D models were compared with full-wave 3D commercial software. The perfect agreement between the results was obtained.
