Broad range polycationic calix[4,6]arenes with choline-like or imidazolium ammonium groups on the upper macrocycle rim and hydrophobic groups on the lower rim were synthesized as a result of work. These calixarenes are able to self-assembling in aqueous media and form nanosized micelles (4-7 nm) or larger aggregates. Micelle-like particles can bind the DNA with resistance associates formed is directly proportional to the length of alkyl chains. Results can be implemented in biochemical and medical research.
