Research goal: development of high-effective methods of ductile cast iron crystallization and structure control for receiving of nodular graphite ductile cast iron thin-walled castings with increased level of mechanical properties without structurally free cementite and creation of material and resource-saving processes of their production. Research methods: thermodynamic calculations of chemical reactions, experimental methods of graphitizing and spheroidizing modifiers input in melt, definition of kinetic modes of chemical elements transition from modifiers in cast iron, spectral and chemical analyses, and quantitative metallographic analysis of structures, electronic microscopy, and mechanical tests. Practical value of scientific results: new experimental data about influence of modifiers chemical composition, about parameters of in-mould modifying process, about changes in a chemical composition of cast iron after modifying and about speed of cooling on ductile cast iron structure and mechanical properties that allowed to define optimum variants and parameters for development of harmless resource-saving production technologies of castings with increased properties. Received with resource-saving technologies thin-walled castings from nodular graphite ductile cast iron are intended for use instead of details from steel (cast, forged, rolled) and non-ferrous metals that will allow to save up to 400 kW/hours of the electric power on each ton of castings, to reduce by 30-50 % production labour input, to increase the coefficient of the metal use in 1,5-5,0 times.
