The aim of the research work "ORBICTRON-2012" is to study the oscillating, amplification and multiplication of THz range e.m. oscillations in prototypes orbictron-oscillator, single-stage amplifier-orbictron, two-stage amplifier orbictron and a frequency multiplier built around the coupled systems: open resonator, binary comb, sheet electron beam. Method of Research - theoretical and experimental analysis of processes. To attain the objective that has been formulated the following issues were to be tackled: a) developing the circuits and constructions of electromagnetic systems of prototypical orbictron-based devices over the ranges of 0.1 THz and 0.18 THz; b) 3-D simulation of 1) 0.1 THz and 0.18 THz and 2) the process of setting up the excitation of e.m. oscillations in the systems using a sheet electron beams; c) cold measurements of e.m. field distribution in the prototypes of coupled systems: open resonator, binary comb of specific configuration; d) studying the characteristics of the processes of oscillating and amplifying in the 0.1 THz orbictron-oscillator, 0.18 THz orbictron - amplifier prototypes, simulating the process of multiplying the frequency of 0.06 THz to that of 0.18 THz. It is shown that it is possible to set up the oscillation of the non-optimizsd continuous-wave orbictron-prototype with smooth tuning of e.m. oscillations at 0.18 THz, a power of 0.3-0.5 W at an operating voltage of 2.5-3.0 kV. The non-optimized prototype of the two-stage orbictron-amplifier ensures the gain of 29 dB at 0.18 THz, were as the two-stage orbictron-frequency multiplier yields the losses of 3 dB on a harmonic.
