The goal of the study is theoretical investigation of the transport of ions and nucleotides through the single-wall carbon nanotubes. The major scientific results of the study are the following: the free energy profiles for permeating ions in the single-wall carbon nanotubes are obtained based on data of molecular dynamics simulations. The models of the nanotubes with polarizable walls are created for molecular dynamics simulations. The simplified model of joint diffusion of ions and nucleotides in the single-wall carbon nanotubes is created. The results are fundamental and could be used in the areas of biophysics and bionanotechnology.
