This phenomena is also accompanied by more intensive induction of apoptosis in tumor cells. Strengthening of anticancer effect of doxorubicin by its immobilization on fullerenes can be explained by speed-up of induction of oxidative stress by this drug in target cells which is mediated by superoxide radicals, as shown by means of flow cytometry and and fluorescent microscopy. These results can help to to decrease the therapeutic doses of anticancer drugs during cancer chemotherapy with preserving of her high efficiency, and thus to improve a prognosis of cancer treatment.
