Subject of research: social discourse in sociocommunicational processes, especially the formation and functioning of the media of specified period. Aim: a comprehensive study of communicative relationships and social media, press agencies, typological classification issues, the impact of personal journalism in the development of mass media.. Methods: historical and bibliographical, historical and typological, kliometrical, biographical and historical methods of analysis of press publications. Results. The features of sociocommunicational processes in the Ukrainian press in Ukraine and abroad, 1917-1922 were studied. The period of 1917-1920 was characterized by developed of democratic and multi-professional press, the period of 1921-1922 -- by the process of narrowing. The impact of creative personalities on the ideological direction of periodicals and audience and public involvement in the national liberation struggle was analysed. The emphasis was made on researching magazines published in 1917-1918. Database of periodicals of the period was significantly replenished , new materials were used in writing research papers and biobibliografical articles about Ukrainian journalists, publicists, editors. The results were published in "Proceedings of Mass Media Research Institute" Issue. 1 (19), historical and bibliographical research "Ukrainian press in Ukraine and the world of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries." T 1, t 2), historical and bibliographical, historical and typological database of Ukrainian press of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries as well as in materials to the dictionary "Who is who in Ukrainian journalism" (issue 18). All these results are used by university teaching-staff and researchers.
