It aims at considering the historical being of Gogol texts in the literature of the 19th and the 20th centuries. Gogol, having aquired the Ukrainian artistic tradition, gave it a new life. The work analyzes its nature and functioning in the modern literature. The research presents a wide range of philological and interdisciplinary methods. The results consist of : 2 individual monographs, 1 critical anthology, over 64 articles, published in various academic journals and in the press, 1 collective work “Gogol texts in literature and literary criticism of the 19th and the 20th centuries”. 7 volume edition of Gogol texts with academic commentary was realized within the limits of the project. The works realized by the participants of the project are important for the development of Ukrainian literature and criticism and could be applied in academic practice and teaching.
