Results of research and innovation: on the base of collection research a data base of cartographic documents was complied (2,788 units). To implement cartographic documents XVI-XX centuries to the scientific use, 110 scientific descriptions of old atlases, ethnic and Austrian topographic maps of Ukrainian lands were made, based on the software package CDS / ISIS 1.4 for Windows. Catalog "Topographic maps of Ukrainian lands, issued by Military Geographical Institute in Vienna (1870-1918): Information from the study of cartography department of Vasyl Stefanyk National Scientific Library of Ukraine in Lviv" was perepared to issue. 156 scientific descriptions of cartographic documents of the 19th - early 20th century were made for Library's electronic catalog.
