Analysis of geologic structure of promising gas-bearing areas in coal-bearing formations of the Donets Coal Basin has been made and test areas (area of south reserve block adjoining to to Krivorozhsko-Pavlovsky fault, area of south flank of Krasnoarmeiskaya-Zapadnaya No. 1 Mine (Udachninsky thrust faults No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3), Severo-Rodinsky area, area of south flank (Fedorovsky and Grushevsky faults) of Krasnolimanskaya Mine and area of the block No. 2 of Zapadno-Donbasskaya Mine) have been selected where test seismic surveys using CDP method and refraction correlation method have been performed. Processing and interpretation of field data have been made and geologic-geophysical models have been generated. Based on the integrated geologic-geophysical interpretation of exploration data geologic-geophysical models of promising areas have been constructed and areas of increased gas-bearing capacity have been delineated.
