It is the first time that the terminology was generalized and the classification and structurally modular design of parallel structure machine tools was designed. The system of indicators of motor capacity of Hexapod while moving the executive body along the lines, planes and volumes, is suggested. Analytical dependences of possible movements of the executive body of the Hexapod on modification of its basic structural elements are determined and their influence on the shape, size and volume of working space is stated. The ways to expand the working space of parallel structure machine tools are suggested. Practical recommendations for the design of Hexapods are provided and several designs of Hexapod.
