The object of research is the process of improving the quality of digital images. The aim of research is to improve the quality filtering of color images using wavelet transforms and models that take into account the qualitative characteristics of the image. As the research methods used wavelet transform methods and techniques based on the color models for color image filtering, methods of numerical modeling and statistical analysis for the treatment and tests results. The developed method can be used to solve practical problems that need to improve the quality of images for subsequent processing and investigation of such problems in the surveillance, detection, digital photography, machine vision, medicine, etc.. The developed software can be used in video surveillance systems as a first step of image processing for further recognition of objects in the image.
