Research methods: culturing of cells in vivo, light and luminescent microscopy, flow cytometry, electron transmission microscopy, spectrophotometry. Classic and the most widely spread in clinical practice methods of treating malignant neoplasms is chemo- and beam therapy as independent approaches and in complex with surgical invasions. Depending on the conditions (disease stage, tumor localization etc.) every from the methods chosen has different degree of efficiency. Evident shortcoming of each of them is the absence of the possibility to selectively affect CSCs, being at different hierarchic stages. An important contribution into successful solution of this task is done by nanoscience and the proposed by it nanotechnological approaches of diagnosis and therapy of oncological diseases. The peculiarity of nanocrystals of orthovanadates is the possibility to control the shape and dimensions of the particles when keeping unchanged other parameters (environment, composition, beam polarity, mass concentration). However the question about the relationship of the parameters of particles with their ability to penetrate into cells has remained open. Mainly this depends on methodical approaches of identification and recording of the effect in the experiments in vitro and in vivo. The most effective methods are the ones based on direct effect of nanoparticles on studied biological systems. This is of unique possibility ceteris paribus to determine the effect of the dimensions and shapes of nanoparticles on the functions of the objects of the studied biological syste, which is the aim of this R&D stage.
