The main factor of damage to metal of high tension components of power units outside the fleet life is low-cycle fatigue of the metal, developed as a result of sudden changes in the thermal state of power units. The tendency for growth of over-plan start-ups of power units in time is revealed. It threatens a significant deterioration in the conditions of the use of CHP and their premature failure. To counter this trend it is proposed to use electrothermal consumer-regulators (ETCR) based on high-power heat pumps, which are installed in district heating systems to control TPP electric load schedules. The variants for including ETCR in the process control loops of power system are developed, there are determined the necessary levels of their adoption in unified power system of Ukraine to ensure cessation of cyclic use of power units, and complete alignment of schedules in the future.
