Objective: To create a theory of discrete information processing in the acousto-optic medium, which allows synthesis of high-performance optoelectronic computing devices with high accuracy conversion. Basic research (scientific and technical) results: - the processes of interaction of acoustic wave packet and optical pulse in the acousto-optic medium of finite size were investigated; - a mathematical model of the acoustooptic cell in the acousto-optical optoelectronic computing device of a discrete signal processing was created; - the spatial and temporal representation of discrete signals in acoustooptic interaction were investigated. Practical significance: The results can be used by developers and manufacturers of integrated photonic and optoelectronic computing devices to develop new techniques and technologies; in the education for teaching the bachelors students in the areas of "Applied Physics", "Computer Science", and specialist and master students in the "Radio Physics and Electronics" speciality. Expected impact of the results: further development of the theory of interaction of acoustic wave packet and optical pulse in the acousto-optic medium of finite size.
