The object of investigation is biotechnological methods of creating the collection of varieties of rare root crops in vitro. Research objectives: the creation of the collection of the initial selective material of rare root crops (celery, parsnip, radish, etc.). Methods of investigation: individual selection, laboratory and statistic methods. 8 new promising varieties of celery, 11 new lines of selection of heterosis carrot hybrids of Institute of Vegetable and Melon-Growing NAAS were introduced into in vitro culture. The nutrition habitat for cultivating and preserving regenerants of the selected varieties in vitro was modified. It was established, that the temperature 18 C prolongs the period of cultivation on the same medium without their replanting.
